Achieving our Mission
PenderWatch & Conservancy works to achieve our mission by:
-
Actively working with county officials and participating in
County Commissioners and Planning Board meetings on
development, land use and zoning issues.
- Addressing issues related to public utilities, pollution, storm
water runoff, drainage, recycling and waste disposal.
- Promoting conservation of wetlands, forest preserves and
wildlife.
- Taking action on water quality issues impacting our coastal
waters and marine habitat.
- Publicly recognizing groups and individuals who advance our
environment.
- Conducting quarterly Adopt-a-Highway litter pickups and an
annual Beach Sweep/Big Sweep beach pickup.
- Sharing information by sponsoring community field trips to sites
of environmental interest, participating in local fairs and events,
making presentations to civic organizations and other community
groups, and establishing environmental programs at schools.
